Newspaper and magazines might contact you for interviews and photo opportunities.

With fewer and fewer publishing houses accepting unsolicited manuscripts it may be worth a second look at an independent or niche publisher. These professionals may be more open to reviewing this material.
There are opportunities for publishing, but it takes a good manuscript, research, persistence and a willingness to work with an editor on a mutually agreeable final draft.
