The plot (a word I use loosely) of Office Space revolves around a big company (in this, the fictional Initech) drone named Peter, who one day wakes up and decides that his days of conforming to the rules of corporate America are over. The more Peter’s behavior deviates from the expected, the higher in the company he rises. Joining Peter at Initech are his co-workers Tom, Samir, Milton and the incomparably named Michael Bolton. Jennifer Aniston also shows up as waitress at a TGIFriday’s-knockoff who eventually becomes Peter’s girlfriend. While Office Space is essentially little more than a series of interconnected sketches, the absurdity of the situations Peter and co. find themselves in will ring true for anyone who has ever worked in a cubicle or had a case of the Mondays’.
