Consumer Alert Beware of fraudulent e mails
Every Internet user should know about spoof (a.k.a. phishing or hoax) e-mails that appear to be
from a well-known company but can put you at risk.

Although they can be difficult to spot, they generally ask you to click a link back to a spoof web
site and provide, update or confirm sensitive personal information. To bait you, they may allude
to an urgent or threatening condition concerning your account.

What spoof emails are after
1.Passoword or pin.
2.Credit Card Validation(CCV) Code.
3.ATM/Debit or credit card number.
4.Social Security Number.
5.Bank Account Number.

Even if you don't provide what they ask for, simply clicking the link could subject you to background installations of key logging software or viruses.

These tips can help you protect yourself from becoming a victim of spoofing.

1.Make sure your computer is up to date with the most current anit-virus software.

2.Dont click links in unsolicited emails. Especially those asking for personal information. Even if you dont supply software can be enabled to record your keystrokes.

3.Setup a login cookie. Many websites will be able to remember your login id. A spoof website will not be able to display your id.

4.Create hard to guess passowords. Use at least 6 characters and a mix of letters. Dont use anything like part of your id or email address.

5.Change your password frequently.(30-60 days)

6.Change your pin at the atm frequently(30-60 days)

7. Keep track of your accounts. For more information like this you can visit us at credit-wisdom , jetclient
