Debenhams to host new nail bars
An Ulster company is teaming up with department store group Debenhams in a 1 million plus deal that will bring around 20 new jobs to North Belfast, according to reports.

New York City Nails (NYCN), which already has salons on Belfast's Lisburn Road and at Belfast International Airport, is planning to set up new nail bars in 50 Debenhams stores across the UK.

A new shared service office, to be set up in the North City Business Centre, will handle back office functions supporting operations of the bars and will create 19 high value jobs contributing some 470,000 in salaries to the economy.

The new deal also has support from Invest Northern Ireland, with the organisation contributing 75,000 in assistance towards the project.

"The market for nail products and services is growing steadily," NYCN's managing director, Seamus Lynch told the Belfast Telegraph.

"Given the geographical spread of the outlets, the shared services centre will be crucial to the effective management and future success of NYCN."

The company is also hoping to target more airports and the leisure market with another eight nail bars due to open over the next year.
